My Best Friend Photos

This is Emily Zauner with her new pet rat "Mr Ratty". Mr Ratty was adopted from the AWL after his owners surrendered him because they couldn't look after him anymore. He now lives a very spoilt life with Emily's family - Emily's dad has even built Mr Ratty a giant 'rat hotel' full of exciting things to play with, hide in and sleep in. What a lucky rat! 

This is 8 year-old Jasmine Ulrych from Parkwood with her two Pomeranians Tiny and Soxy. Tiny is special to Jasmine because when he was born he was the ‘runt’ of the litter. He was very fragile and nobody wanted to take him home. Jasmine’s family decided to keep him and now 11 years on he is a happy, playful and cuddly companion.

Ten year-old Rhiana Webber from Karalee says that her cat Bella is one-in-a-million! When Rhiana was in grade 4, a stray kitten turned up at her school and was in a very bad way. Rhiana and her mum decided they would take it home and after being checked over by their vet, discovered that Bella had been stray for some time. Bella was desexed at the AWL vet clinic and after some scratching and hissing with Rhiana’s other cat Tiddles when she was first settling in, Bella is now a happy and content (as you can see from the picture that Rhiana has sent in)!

 Monique Woods, 11, from Benowa, says her dog Charlie is special because he is playful and always willing to go on a walk. She says he has a funny habit of of spinning around in circles when Monique feeds him because he loves his food so much! Even though Monique isn’t allowed to have dogs in her bedroom, she sometimes sneaks Charlie in and hides him behind her on the bed so her parents can’t see him. Monique says the most special thing about Charlie is the fact that he is a part of her family.

This is Ruby Pangrazio from Benowa and her dog Jackson. Jackson, whose nickname is ‘Moogem’ is special to Ruby because he always listens when she reads him bedtime stories. It’s clear in this picture that Jackson does love his story books!
