Short Tails

Great news! Short Tails is now printed in full colour!! The Spring issue is hot off the press and making it's way into schools, libraries and supermarket donation bins around the Gold Coast. We are always looking for people to help us distribute the magazine and schools that would like to have the latest issue in their libraries. If you would like to join our Education Street Team and help us distribute Short Tails to a school near you, then contact our Education Director Zoe on (07) 5509 9032. If you go to a school that doesn't have Short Tails in the library, then ask your Teacher Librarian to contact our Kid's Club Coordinator Rachel on (07) 5509 9034 and we'll organise someone to drop them off pronto!

Short Tails is a free, fun and educational magazine which promotes responsible animal care and encourages kids from ages 2 - 16 to learn about and have compassion for their animal friends. It also encourages kids to become a part of the Animal Welfare League community by entering competitions and submitting photos and written work to form part of the magazine content. Short Tails is produced four times by the AWL Education Division.

 Where can I get Short Tails?

The latest copy of Short Tails can be found at your local Gold Coast City Council Libary, supermarkets with AWL food donation bins, at the AWL Rehoming & Education Centre and also at selected primary and high schools. If your school doesn't have Short Tails in the library, then ask your Teacher Librarian to contact our Kid's Club Coordinator Rachel on (07) 5509 9034 and we'll place your school on the distribution list. However, the best way to make sure you get your copy of Short Tails, is to become a Kid's Club member and you get the latest copy sent straight to your door!

How can I get my stuff published in Short Tails?

We are always looking for artwork, photos, stories, poems and articles by you to put into Short Tails. If you have something you would like to send us, then send it to the contact address or email at the top of this page.
