AWLsaFormed in 1964 the AWL SA consisted of a cottage, two shops and a large garden in Norwood. As the numbers of lost and abandoned animals continued to grow, so did the AWL, eventually re-locating to its current extensive shelter facility in Wingfield in the mid-seventies. Through the PetRescue website it is easy for potential adopters to find and save a rescue pet. It is the largest online, searchable directory of rescue pets in Australia, making it a hub for rescue groups, pet lovers and friends. More than 10,000 pets find homes each year thanks to their PetRescue listings.
