Respect, care and dignity
The Animal Welfare League has a deep and sincere love and concern for all companion animals. We understand that your pet is part of the family, and realise how difficult it can be to lose such a cherished friend.
In your time of need we are here to help you. We offer a professional, dignified and compassionate cremation service for your beloved companion. Our door-to-door service ensures your deceased pet can be picked up from either your home or veterinarian, and will be treated with the utmost care and respect at all times. Your pet's ashes will then be returned to our Rehoming Centre for your collection.
Our services include
- the dignified transfer of your pet to our mortuary facility
- your pets ashes returned to you in a burial container enclosed in a velvet pouch
- a certificate of cremation, tealight candle and rose scented potpourri is returned with the ashes
- pets ashes returned to the AWL Coombabah Rehoming Centre for your collection
Choice of resting place
We have several choices available as a final resting place for the ashes of your treasured friend. We can discuss these options with you and help you choose the one that best suits your needs. If you would like to scatter the ashes in your pet's favourite spot or bury the ashes in your garden, we can arrange to have the ashes boxed for you. This service is included in the price of cremation.
Memorial Wall
You can also arrange to have your pet's ashes placed in our memorial wall at the Rehoming Centre. An engraved plaque will be placed on the wall to honour your friend. The plaque will be inscripted with the special wording, tribute or dedication of your choice.
Coping with grief
Please remember that it is quite normal to experience grief when you lose a pet. Sometimes the best way to cope and to work through the loss of your dear friend is to share your memories with others and talk about the life and death of your pet.
If you would like further support and assistance to help you cope with the loss of your pet, please contact us so we can provide you with further information about grief counselling and other grief support services available.
