The Rebel FM fun day at the Animal Welfare League will be held on the 2nd of July in a bid to raise vital funds for the struggling shelter.
The Coombabah shelter which opened its doors in 1959 will be forced to close by Christmas if they do not receive a significant amount of donations from the community and local businesses.
The AWL who has re homed over 100,000 animals in its time does not receive any federal or state government funding and predominately relies on donations; sponsorship, op shops, the AWL vet clinic and adoption dollars to continue its important work.
Marketing Manager Brooke Whitney says “we are very appreciative of the Rebel FM radio station and the fact they are willing to get behind our cause and support the AWL by broadcasting live throughout the day.”
“The day will include a jumping castle, guinea pig cuddle corner, food stalls, and the opportunity for you to adopt a new furry friend.” Miss Whitney says.
The day will run from 10am until 1pm at the AWL Coombabah Re homing centre on Shelter Road.
