When you adopt a pet through the Animal Welfare League Queensland, you are supporting an organisation that rehomes and cares for over 11,000 stray and surrendered animals each year.
WHY ADOPT
Adopting a pet is a truly rewarding experience. When you adopt an animal from us, you are actually saving two lives: the animal you adopt and also the next animal you help us make room for.

THE COST
Each animal costs us approximately $750.00 to prepare them for adoption. This includes vaccinations, veterinary treatment, medication, desexing, quality food, rehabilitation, training and shelter. The cost to care for thousands of animals every single year is enormous, particularly animals requiring emergency, life-saving veterinary treatment.
Where some of our animals are higher priced, these adoption fees go directly back to helping other animals in need.
