Meet Laura.

Life hasn’t been the easiest for this pretty young mother. Her first few years may have been spent out on the streets but thanks to the care and the patience of the staff at AWL, and dedication of her foster family, she is now ready to put all that behind her and finally settle down in a home to call her own.

Her time in foster has gone a long way in helping her become the sweet kitty she is now. Getting to live out her days in a secure home has not only allowed her to grow her confidence, but also open up her heart. While she has come a long way with her trust of people, she would still love a quiet and calm home without children where she can continue to come out of her shell at her own pace. Her ideal human family would be people who understand the value of patience and are willing to give her the time she needs to settle in. Although she would prefer to be the only pet, in the future she may accept the introduction of another feline companion who will respect her boundaries.

A cat with an independent streak, Laura is content to do her own thing and be her own company most of the time. She would therefore love a safe space where she can retreat to when she feels overwhelmed. Curious by nature, she will often observe her surroundings and those around her from afar, usually up someplace high like a windowsill, before coming over to investigate. Once you have earnt her trust, however, she won’t hesitate to show her affection by rolling around by your feet while the house fills with the sound of her love.
