AWLQ launches “Be the reason they find home this Christmas” fundraising appeal
Goal to raise $150,000 to support urgent care for abandoned and homeless animals
Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) is proud to announce the launch of its “Be the reason they find home this Christmas” fundraising appeal today.
The campaign, which runs until December 24th, aims to raise $150,000 to support the organisation’s ongoing efforts in providing vital veterinary care, shelter, food, medication and rehabilitation to thousands of animals in need.
AWLQ, which receives no government funding for its animal welfare initiatives, relies entirely on the generosity of the community to sustain its life-saving work.
The funds raised through this Christmas appeal will help ensure that AWLQ can continue offering a safe haven for lost, abandoned, and injured animals, as well as the medical care and attention required to get them back on their feet and into their forever homes.
AWLQ spokesperson Caroline Esera spoke about the significance of the appeal, saying, “Christmas is a time for cosy cuddles, safety, and family – but for thousands of animals, it means loneliness and a whole lot of uncertainty. Right now, our shelters are bursting at the seams with lost and abandoned pets looking for a family to curl up with.”
“Your donation can make their dreams come true this Christmas. With every dollar raised, you’re helping us provide the necessary care required and helping them on their way into the loving homes they deserve.” she added.
In addition to the appeal, AWLQ is excited to unveil its brand new Christmas ad, which also launches today.
The heartwarming ad underscores the importance of community support in helping to save the lives of vulnerable animals and the amazing bond between humans and pets.
