International English reality TV star and self-confessed animal lover Charlotte Crosby visited Animal Welfare League Queensland’s Gold Coast shelter and became an Ambassador.
“I’m just so excited to be part of the AWLQ family,” Charlotte said.
“It’s incredible to see the lifesaving work they do.
“Please make sure you choose to adopt your next animal from AWLQ.”
The 26-year old has been on a whirlwind tour of Australia with long-term boyfriend, Stephen Bear promoting their new reality MTV program “Just tattoo of us”. Today Charlotte took time out to tour AWLQ’s Gold Coast Rehoming Centre, chatting with fans and enjoying lots of cuddles and hugs with dogs and cats.
“We love having Charlotte on board – she clearly loves animals and wants to promote shelter pets and AWLQ’s lifsaving work here,” AWLQ Fundraising Manager Neil Rangeley said.
“Baby and Rhubarb are very lucky dogs to have Charlotte in their life.
“We’re hoping to add to her fur family by the end of the day!”
Animal Welfare League Queensland is a charity which has been rehoming stray and abandoned animals since 1959. Last year it rehomed more than 8,600 animals. This year it is looking to rehome 9,000.
“AWLQ is committed to rehoming as many abandoned and surrendered animals as possible and having Charlotte in our corner promoting our work is simply fantastic. We couldn’t ask for a more down to earth and generous Ambassador,” Mr Rangeley said.
Charlotte joins a very special bunch of people, such as Olympic Champion Sally Person OAM, Gold Coast Titan Chris McQueen, Ironwoman Courtney Hancock and cricketer Nicholas Buchanan who are all AWLQ Ambassadors.
