GOING GREY APPLICATION
Learning how they behave in a domestic setting can be quite an adjustment, so there are some special requirements for greyhound foster homes. This is so they can comfortably adjust to being part of a family and home environment.
The greyhounds who come into our care that require foster care are racing greyhounds – they are used to highly regimented lifestyles, with few options or choices to make daily.
Our greyhounds prefer not to share the spotlight, so they must be the only animal. They are a good fit for older, dog-savvy kids (8+ years) who know how to read a dog’s body language. Their favourite thing in the world is spending time with people, so you will need to be home more often than not – this means they make the perfect working-from-home companion! They will find certain things awkward because they would not have lived in a home environment before. For this reason, we ask that you live in a single-level property with minimal stairs.
