Corporate Volunteers

AWLQ OFFERS A REWARDING OPPORTUNITY FOR TEAM BUILDING WHILE SUPPORTING OUR ANIMAL REHOMING CENTRES AND THE ANIMALS IN OUR CARE.  

The AWLQ Corporate Volunteering Program is designed to provide businesses an interactive hands-on volunteer experience at our Gold Coast Animal Rehoming Centre.  

As a charity, our resources rely heavily on the support we receive from our community which is what makes our corporate volunteer program an integral part in providing ongoing maintenance to specific areas of the animal rehoming centre and the ability to complete projects which further enrich and support the lives of the animals in our care while they wait for their forever home.

What is involved in an AWLQ Corporate Volunteer session?

Your team will arrive at our AWLQ Animal Rehoming Centre and be given an overview of the organisation and the work that we do in rehoming the animals in our care.   

You will then be treated to a behind the scenes shelter tour and meet some of the team and animals you are helping to support.   

In addition to participating in specifically designed projects to assist in the operations and care of the animals, you will also have plenty of one-on-one time with the shelter pets giving them some much deserved time and affection.

How long do the sessions go for and how many staff can attend?

To ensure your team gets an equal amount of time with volunteering and engaging with the animals, we can accommodate groups of up to 12 people.   

The sessions are 3.5 hours long with the day commencing at 9:30am and finishing at 1:00pm.

What is included in the AWLQ Corporate Volunteer Session?

As part of your time with us you will receive an AWLQ information pack, morning tea and a branded AWLQ t-shirt or AWLQ cap in addition to lots of puppy and kitten cuddles!  

The volunteer session itself can include projects such as landscaping, painting, gardening, renovating, toy making in addition to animal interactions such as dog training sessions, enrichment play, cat grooming, guinea pig feeding, etc.  

Your business will also be presented with a Certificate of Appreciation with a group photo taken with some of our shelter pets by our AWLQ photographer as a keepsake of your time with us.

What do you need to bring/wear on the day?

All participants are requested to wear closed shoes and long pants/leggings, aside from that, you wear whatever you feel comfortable in – and okay for it to get a little bit dirty! Morning tea and refreshments are supplied but team members are welcome to bring their snacks if they have specific dietary requirement.  

If you are not including the AWLQ cap in your corporate package, we encourage everyone to bring along a hat due to most activities and projects often being held outdoors.

What is the cost of the AWLQ Corporate Volunteer program?

The cost of our AWLQ Corporate Volunteer program is $1,250 for up to 12 people.   

This cost helps cover the resources needed and materials required for the projects and is invoiced to your company for your records as a tax-deductable donation.   

The AWLQ does not receive any government funding so every gesture of support to help our animal rehoming centres and the animals in our care makes a huge difference to the work that we do.

To make an enquiry or booking simply: 

  • Complete the online registration form including preferred date/s (please note we cannot guarantee availability of your requested dates but will work with you to find a suitable date)  
  • Once the booking is confirmed by our team you will receive an invoice for payment which will be generated as your tax-deductible donation.
