WORK & STUDY PLACEMENTS

The AWLQ is contacted regularly by students studying their certificates in Animal Care and Companion Animal Care.

Although we would love to have you volunteer with us, we are unable to accommodate work or study placements as we do not have the staff resources to train or assess student’s competency. Often, there are lengthy reporting and assessment requirements for work placements and being a not-for-profit organisation unfortunately we do not have the resources to complete these in-depth reports.

Of course, if you would like to volunteer outside of your study schedule, we would love to have you involved in our regular Volunteer Program.

Students interested in enquiring about Vet Nurse Placements within the AWLQ Community Vet Clinics, please have your TAFE placement coordinator contact the Community Vet Clinic direct.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Our volunteers make such a difference to the lives of the animals in our care by contributing their time in a variety of ways – from enriching the lives of animals, running our ops shops, or managing laundry; to collecting donations, fundraising at events, or providing community or admin support.

SCHOOL WORK EXPERIENCE

SCHOOL WORK EXPERIENCE

As you can imagine, our organisation is an extremely popular choice for school students wishing to conduct their Work Experience placement at AWLQ Gold Coast Rehoming Centre. Many of our Work Experience students go on to become Volunteers who make a significant contribution to our Volunteer Program.

EDUCATION PROGRAMS

EDUCATION PROGRAMS

We believe education is key to securing a ‘Brighter Future’ for companion animals. Our professionally developed programs are designed to educate current and future companion animal caretakers about responsible animal care.
